1945: Founded by Charles Lambert, Cycles Lambert inc. began as an independent bike dealer. As a seasoned businessman, Mr. Lambert brought together other dealers in the Quebec area so as to increase their purchasing power with parts and accessories suppliers as well as benefit from economies of scale.
1978: Mr. Lambert gave the reins of the company to his daughter, Céline, her husband, Doris Roy, and Gilles Nadeau, a long-time business partner.
1984: After 40 years in retail, Lambert decided to change its business strategy and focus on the distribution of bike parts and accessories for the Canadian market.
2008: Barrett Corporation, a privately held company based in Woodstock, New Brunswick, saw a huge potential in Lambert. Barrett Corporation soon acquired a majority share in the company.
2010: Lambert acquired a majority share in the Hawley Company, an American distributor of bike parts and accessories based in South Carolina. Lambert also made its debut distributing running products in the Canadian market. Today, Lambert has two dedicated divisions that cater to the bike and running markets.
